A Note From The Founder

Comyn Bruce was founded in 2017 by me, Georgia Bruce whilst studying the culinary arts at Leiths School of Food and Wine. Starting my career as a private chef, this naturally evolved into taking on gradually larger events. With that the business began to grow and has developed into the ever growing team of talented industry professionals you see today. We now have a full time team of chefs, waiting staff and more to ensure that your event is never too big a challenge.

Our focus is simple - seasonal food, cooked with love and served to perfection. This set of principles comes under many guises, however our ideologies run through everything we create, keeping us true to what we want to achieve for your event.

We specialise in creating and catering for beautiful events for a variety of clients, both private and corporate.

So that we can focus our efforts on each and every event, we cap our capacity at two large events per week. This means we do get rather busy, so if you have an event in mind - please get in touch as soon as you’re ready!

  • Founder and Director

    Likely to be your main point of contact throughout the CB process, Georgia oversees the daily running of the business and wears many hats in her role as the boss.

    Trained in London and having worked in some of Manchester and Shropshire’s finest restaurants, she now runs the wonderful CB team. Having catered for many high profile clients, including royals and celebrities, discretion is key and sky high standards are observed wherever we are involved!

 
  • Sous Chef

    Our wonderful Greek Sous Chef, Giorgos, can be found in one of our prep kitchens or in any of our onsite kitchens working alongside Ricky and the team to ensure culinary perfection, every time.

    Having spent his formative years working in some of Greece’s largest hotels, he relocated to the UK 11 years ago and began cheffing in Shropshire’s culinary circles.

  • Head Chef

    Our talented and imaginative Head Chef Ricky will be taking care of the hands on cooking side of things for your event, backed up by the rest of the kitchen team.

    Ricky has previously worked in several well recognised Scottish restaurants before moving to Shropshire. More recently he headed up the kitchen staff at the 2AA* Drapers Hall in Shrewsbury before joining Comyn Bruce in early 2021.

 
 

Our Base

We are based in a self contained and purpose built unit just outside of Wem, North Shropshire. This is where all of our foodie creating happens, and where you’ll come for your wedding tasting!

In our mezzanine tasting room, we get to know you and chat all things wedding. Sampling your bespoke menu allows you a glimpse of how your wedding breakfast will unfold on the big day. We prepare all our food here in-house, and take receipt of deliveries of incredible ingredients from our wealth of world class local suppliers.
